Special City Meeting and Vermont Primary Election – August 9, 2016
The qualified voters of the City of Vergennes are hereby warned and notified that a Special City Meeting will be held at the Vergennes Fire Station Meeting Room on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, commencing at 9:00 a.m. for the following:
Article I: To vote by Australian ballot on the following: Shall the real estate presently owned by Vergennes Area Rescue Squad, Inc. and located in the City of Vergennes, be exempted from property taxation for the period of up to five years, first applicable to the Grand List of 2016, as provided for in Title 32, Vermont Statutes Annotated.
Article II: To vote by Australian ballot on the following: Shall the real estate presently owned by Vergennes Masonic Association, Inc. and located at54 School Street, be exempted from property taxation for a period of five years, first applicable to the Grand List of 2016, as provided for in Title 32, Vermont Statutes Annotated, in order to help the Masons continue their benevolent and charitable activities with the Vergennes Community.
Article III: To transact any other non-binding business that may come before the meeting.
Ballot boxes will remain open from nine o’clock in the forenoon until seven o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at the Vergennes Fire Station on Green Street for voting by Australian ballot on Articles I and II. The legal voters of the City of Vergennes are further notified that voter qualification, registration and absentee voting shall be as provided in Chapters 43 and 51 of Title 17, Vermont Statutes Annotated.

A statewide Primary Election will be held on August 9, 2016 to vote for candidates for the following offices:

- State Representative(s)
- High Bailiff
The polls will open at 9 am and will close at 7 pm. The polling place is located at Vergennes Fire Station, 50 Green Street.
