Municipal Docks

The City of Vergennes welcomes boaters to our municipal docks, located at Macdonough Park on Otter Creek.  The Vergennes Falls and Otter Creek Basin are located seven miles from the mouth of Otter Creek on Lake Champlain.  Otter Creek is navigable by nearly all types of watercraft.   Click here for Water Depth Study of Otter Creek Falls Basin (August, 2022).

Our docks at Macdonough Park are located on the east side of Otter Creek.  Boaters can take a walk through Macdonough Park and up the gateway stairs to Main Street where you will find a variety of stores and restaurants in our Historic Downtown.

Power and Water are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and a nominal donation is requested.
Here's what we have to offer our boaters:
- Eight (8) power outlets. (One receptacle per boat, 20 AMP maximum draw per receptacle).
- Six (6) water connections.
There is a 48-hour maximum dockage stay. The Otter Creek Basin is also a safe anchorage for most boats during the regular boating season. A bulletin board at Macdonough Park includes helpful information for boaters.
