Come out and vote on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 for the Vermont Primary Election and the Special City Meeting. Voting by Australian ballot will take place at the Vergennes Fire Station at 50 Green Street from 9 am until 7 pm. The Special City Meeting and Vermont Primary Election announcement provides a preview of the questions on the ballot. For the Vermont Primary Ballot you will have to vote by party ballot. You will be given three (3) party ballots and will only be able to use one.

The deadline to register to vote and have your name added to the City’s voter checklist is Wednesday, August 3rd, at 5 pm. You may register at the City Hall (120 Main Street) in person, or register online at Vermont’s My Voter site. You also may request your absentee ballots at this site.

Absentee ballots are available now. You may stop in and vote at City Hall, or you may pick up the ballots and take them with you. You also may call the City Clerk’s office (802-877-2841) to request that ballots be mailed to you. The deadline to request and vote absentee is August 8th, at 4:30 pm.
