2022 Annual City Election Open Positions


The Annual City Election will be held on Tuesday March 1, 2022, at the Vergennes Fire Station. Nominating petitions will be available at the City Clerk’s Office for the following public offices:

  • Three Aldermen for respective two-year terms.
  • One Lister for a three-year term.
  • One Auditor for a one-year term.
  • One Auditor for a three-year term.
  • One Commissioner to the Vergennes Panton Water District Board of Directors for a three-year term.
  • One Commissioner to the Vergennes Panton Water District Board of Directors for a one-year term.
  • One Grand Juror for a one-year term.
  • Two Directors to the Addison Northwest School District Board of Directors for respective three-year terms.
  • One Director to the Addison Northwest School District Board of Directors for a one-year term.

The deadline for filing petitions with accompanying candidate consent form for local public office is Monday, January 24, 2022 by 5:00 p.m.  Petitions must contain signatures from 1% of the voters, which is approximately 22 voters. You must be a registered voter in Vergennes to run for public office.
