City Pool Closes for the Season
Our 2021 season for the Sam Fishman Memorial Pool has drawn to a close. What a season!
First, congratulations to the Vergennes Swim Team, state champs! We are so proud of you and grateful to all the families and friends who provided support. Thank you all!
Next, my thanks also to our Pool Committee – Michelle Eckels, Lisa Casey, Ben Hatch – and to Kim Buckley, our Recreation Coordinator. They worked tirelessly, sometimes feverishly, to bring a new management structure and new rules and regulations for operating the pool. The good news? Pool Membership is on the Rise: in 2020, there were 496 Pool Pass Members compared with 729 Pool Pass Members in 2021!
Big thanks to Andrew Bynum, our new pool manager for the 2021 season. Andrew’s natural sense of calm, management style and diverse work experience brought a level of predictability and professionalism that was greatly appreciated.
And, most of all, huge THANK YOUS to our Lifeguards: Emma, Anna, Grace, Gideon, Jackson, Sydney, Lily, Adam , Hadley, Elena, Carlyn, Bee, Siobhan, Acadia, Riley, Parker and Bill. We could not have been successful without your dedication to the City, and to all the people who enjoyed our municipal pool this season. You made it happen!
