Rt 22A Truck Traffic Public Meeting September 26, 7PM

Route 22A is one of the busiest truck routes in Vermont. The City of Vergennes has proportionally more large trucks travelling through its downtown than any other comparably sized municipality in Vermont. The Addison County Regional Planning Commission and the Vermont Agency of Transportation have commissioned a study to assess options for reducing the impacts (Noise, vibration, safety, pollution) of truck traffic in downtown Vergennes while also considering impacts on neighboring towns. The goal is to find an option that improves conditions in Vergennes, is sensitive to the concerns of neighboring communities and has broad regional support. Please come to a public meeting at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 26 at the Vergennes Opera House to provide input that will be considered by the regional Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) when they select a preferred option in early 2019. For more information, please contact Meeting Facilitator Cindy Cook, 802-272-2829, ccook@adamantaccord.com.
