Main Street Construction Update

Planned construction activities, week of 6/29: (Please note that the construction schedule is subject to change due to any of a number of factors. The contractor attempts to adhere as closely as possible to the schedule each week).

All work in Vergennes for the week of 6/29 will be completed during daytime work hours, typically 7:00 AM-7:00 PM

Crews are scheduled to begin setting light poles tomorrow (6/26) and continue with this work next week.

Work at the intersection of Green St. and Main St. will continue next week as crews work on the pedestrian poles and running conduit for the pedestrian signals.

Crews are scheduled prep and pour sidewalk and curb throughout the week next week.

Sidewalk work will be done on Main Street at the intersections with McDonough Road, Green Street and Monkton Road, where pedestrian 'bulb-outs' are being installed. Bulb-outs are pedestrian safety measures that align the curb with the parking lane in order to increase the visibility of people on the sidewalk/at the crosswalk and also reduce the distance required to cross the street.

Holiday Hours: In observance of the Fourth of July holiday, the contractor will cease operations at noon on Thursday, 7/2 and will not be working on Friday, 7/3. Work will resume on Monday, 7/6 at 7:00 AM.
