Rooster and Chicken Committee

Alderman David Austin and Alderwoman Jill Murray-Killon were recently appointed by the City Council to address issues with Chickens and Roosters within the City. They will be seeking public input and will be hosting a public forum on this matter on Friday, October 30th at 5:30PM via Zoom.

We are aware that some residents are having issues with roosters and wandering chickens. In the interim, please be advised that any noise complaints regarding roosters are covered under the City noise ordinance (, and chickens should be confined to the owners property and not be wandering at large in the public right-of-way or other private property.
